Beatrice L. McIntyre, 98, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday evening, September 23rd at Miller’s Merry Manor East, Indianapolis.
Bea was born June 21, 1917 in Indianapolis, Indiana a daughter of Leota and Walter Warriner. She grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and was a graduate of Tech High School.
In Bea’s early working years, she was a supervisor at Merchants Bank. Following that, she was a small business owner, with a hair salon and then her own flower shop, Beatrice’s Flowers. Bea loved to travel, loved flowers, spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed many pen-pals across the country. She always loved the color purple and wore that color often. She was always quick with her smile and her family will always remember her patented “Granny Bea Wave”.
Bea’s son Max Smith and daughter Sandra Dew preceded her in death.
Her surviving family includes her son-in law Robert Dew, daughter in-law Wilma Smith, her three grandsons; Donald (Mary) Renfro of San Diego, CA, Brian (Regina) Dew of Indianapolis and Jeffrey (Kadee) Dew of Noblesville, and her great grand-daughters Nicole, Cari and Lily.
Friends may spend time with Bea’s family Monday from 10:00 am to 12:30 noon, with services starting at 12:30 pm at Harry Moore Funeral Home, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. Immediately following, grave-side services will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 9700 Allisonville Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children or Heartland Hospice Care.
